The first batch of book donations have made their way to the Grand Rapids Pride Center, and there are more titles being ordered! 🚛📚 We’ve been blown away by the kindness and support in the past couple weeks since *THAT phone call* and are so happy to be part of a community that shows up to defend its neighbors. Thank you for everything. Thank you for choosing kindness, compassion, and inclusivity. And thank you for valuing the work the @grandrapidspridecenter does to help LGBTQ+ people in our city, and investing in their facility!🌈 There are so many great books in these stacks, but if you’re looking for recommendations, some of my personal favorites are: - Beetle & the Hollowbones by @alizalayne (cutest graphic novel with a sequel coming out this month!!) - Heartstopper by @aliceoseman (the sweetest teenage love story I’ve ever read) - The Girl from Earth’s End by @allfourstars (so original and beautiful, must read for gardeners!) - Dear Mothman by @robin_gow_poet (such an important story, will make you cry) - A Year of Black Joy by @jamiaawilson @jadefrolics (I learned so much!! It has something for everyone, and features incredibly interesting people, hobbies, and occupations)
